About The Outdoor Map
The Outdoor Map collects all the information it can find about outdoor locations in one place. It's finding more all the time.
- Find a location on the search page.
- Find out everything you want to know about it on the location detail page.
- Add your own links and notes.
That's the vision. In particular, find:
- some basic information about an outdoor spot quickly
- Coordinates and elevation
- State and Country
- Brief description of what's there
- the same information for nearby places
- an easy way to link to this information
- this is handy if you blog about a place, for instance
- The Outdoor map will try to find your blog posts and link back to them!
- links to other online maps and services for a place
- weather, photos, camping, trip guides, hi-Res topos, etc.
- links to other sites specific to a place
- guidebooks, official websites, etc.
- a rating system for link quality
- add your own
You're invited to contribute, or just use the information.
